Marketing Monster Mashup: Spotlight on Darling Jimenez!

Roco-dropthemic 2 copy.jpgDid you know Leading Results has a podcast? Well, we do, and it’s called “Marketing Monster Mashup.”

What’s with the name, you ask? Well, Roco is our company mascot and content monster. He loves to devour content, so we decided to add a podcast to his nutritional intake. I’m Matt, and I host the whole crazy affair.

But enough about me – the reason for this blog post is our latest podcast guest, Darling Jimenez. (Yes, Darling. Like the movie or the song “My Darling Clementine.”)

OUR Darling, however, is the Director of User Experience … and so much more.

We start at the beginning. (Well, the beginning of the day, not the beginning when Darling was born.) We all start our day by brushing our teeth (hopefully!), doing something with our hair, perhaps letting the dog out, eating breakfast, drinking coffee, and other similarly fun stuff.

So what’s different about how Darling starts her day? In addition to doing most of the aforementioned things, Darling starts her day with gratitude. Listen to the episode to find out how this shapes her entire day.

We don’t just talk about how Darling starts her day, of course. We asked her what platform she likes to work in the most, and why. She explains how valuing and understanding a client’s communication style plays an important role in a business relationship and can prevent the problem of starting out full steam ahead and then sputtering out.

Darling JimenezDarling also tells us how, once communications are moving along nicely, she puts on her detective hat to figure out what the client’s ideal website is and how to bring that to life while staying true to the client’s business identity and values. All of this while staying in the realm of reality, as sometimes the client wants bells and whistles that actually detract from the user experience!

Darling just isn’t a developer, either – she’s also the unofficial morale booster at Leading Results. Just one example is how she starts everyone off with a good breakfast on Waffle Wednesdays. (More about that in the podcast.)

One of the things I love about Darling is her many passions: dancing, reading, languages – just for starters. (Want to know what book is on Darling’s nightstand? Better listen!)

You really should hear Darling tell you this herself in her cheerful, upbeat way – you’ll find her laugh and vibrant personality inspiring and contagious.
