If people don’t know about your brand, you won’t have success in your industry. Brand awareness leaves a lasting impression and people are more likely to tell others about you. In my blog last month, I talked about three reasons brand awareness makes the difference. Today I’m following up with three tips to increase your brand awareness.
Use these 3 tips to increase your brand awareness.
New content is extremely important, as it allows your audience to continue to learn valuable information – but it isn’t just the content that’s important, it’s the way you distribute that content. It’s important to have multiple distribution methods or your audience will get bored with the repetition and your content won’t leave a lasting impression. Change it up by creating a beautifully designed infographic, incorporating multimedia with an animated video, or interviewing someone for a podcast. These methods are more likely to be shared by your audience because they’re more appealing ways to absorb the content.
The most common way for your audience to share your appealing content is through social media. And seriously – if you aren’t using social media for your business, you're making a big mistake. It can be as simple as posting a daily tip for your industry or publishing the content from your website, but if you aren’t posting at least daily on your customers’ and prospects’ favorite social media platform, no one will see the content you’ve worked so hard on making appealing.
You can’t hide behind your social media to meet new people – you have to go out and talk to people. It’s not as terrifying as it sounds. The power of a face-to-face interaction is still stronger than having people recognize your logo and what you offer. Networking allows you to build relationships; even if the people you meet don’t need your business, they may refer you to someone who does. There are some great ways to network that aren’t scary. Go to an event or conference related to your industry – it’s much easier to build a relationship with someone who has similar interests – and there you'll be, instantly surrounded by business professionals with the same knowledge and goals you have.
Overall, your brand awareness is extremely important to your success, so you need to be proactive to get your brand out there.
