... but Google isn’t the only way to do search advertising.
When you think of doing paid search marketing – getting listed when someone searches – you probably think of Google. (Or *maybe* Bing, but who “Bings”?)
But there IS another way to advertise and reach people when they search – it’s called programmatic (or AI-driven) search targeting.
Here’s what happens:
Many very informative websites offer search capabilities. WebMD, for example. When you search, you may go to Google, which may send you to WebMD, where you refine your original search.
Programmatic ads can be targeted by you (or at you) based on a secondary (in this case, WebMD) search.
Rather than showing up as line listings, programmatic ads appear as banners on websites you visit after your initial search – so instead of having only one opportunity to put your message in front of someone, you have many.
