Welcome back to our series about marketing sophistication and maturity! We’ve covered strategy, content planning/creation, and the first step of getting the total online presence you need to be successful.

Last week, that was having a customer-centric website. This week, it's about having search engine optimization, or SEO.

Like the other topics we've covered, your SEO can be absent, reactive, sporadic, or consistent.

An absent SEO strategy is exactly what it sounds like  you don't have an SEO strategy.

If your SEO strategy is reactive, it means you have SEO  but by accident, not by design.

When you move into the sporadic stage, your site is using purposeful, researched SEO.

And a consistent  always your goal  SEO strategy will find your SEO plan fully fleshed out, your site fully SEO optimized, and, most importantly, the SEO is helping you generate leads.

Check back next week for information about directory listings!
